History of the crew.

In recent years, my parents had strict rules as to what video games I played. They said that the content of many modern video games were inappropriate and disgusting which has some truth to it. Not wanting to be left out of the loop with the newest and greatest PC video game Crysis, I took it upon myself to learn how to mod games. After reading a few articles and tutorials, I explained to my parents that the game could be modded and thus change the content of the game. My parents reluctantly agreed to let me buy the game.

In Crisis Mode

Fast forward a bit and I had just completed my Crysis mod. Realizing that my mod could be useful to other kids in the same situation as me, I decided to find a way to distribute my mod. In the mean time I was experiencing some difficulty with my mod. During my testing of the mod I noticed that I had missed a bunch of curse words throughout the campaign. This was problem. After some thought, I decided to get some help. A friend of mine from school, Zachery Combs, just happened to like the game as much as I did and eventually I got him to help me.

Fast forward about a week and we had run through the campaign about three to four times, editing the subtitles and audio were it was needed. It was time to distribute the mod. Not knowing how to make and host a website I contacted my friend Richard Habeeb, who creates websites for a hobby, to help me. One of the first things he asked me was “What will it be called?” something I had not thought about. Richard being the creative type suggested it be called GameSoap. Nuff Said.

Two Mods Later

GameSoap is now a small group of modders that take out offensive material out of video games. That’s right, we mod games that even granny can enjoy. So far we have completed three games: Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and the new Crysis 2. Sure now that I am older I realize the concept is a bit controversial and silly, but for Crysis 2 especially, I viewed it more as a challenge. A challenge only a few people have taken up.
