I love how often that argument pops up. It always basically boils down to “you have to like what I like.” Is it really a big deal if I find some content more offensive than other content? Does that kill anyone? Just because I CAN deal with swearing doesn’t mean I should need to. Despite what everyone claims, some mature people simply don’t like to hear swearing, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to not subject myself to something that, for whatever reason, makes me feel uncomfortable. It boggles my mind that other gamers see this as some sort of an attack on them.
Rates only slightly above the “it makes games more realistic” argument, while referencing games that allow you to turn invisible and heal yourself just by standing still. No problem there, but without the language it would be totally unrealistic…
I’m just ranting though. Awesome mods, I am SO grateful for them. You are definitely helping people by creating this, simply by giving gamers the choice to experience the game the way they want to, whether that be with or without swearing.
